COM-AND Distribution Limitations
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
COM-AND is copyright 1992, by CABER Software (R. Scott McGinnis). All
Rights are Reserved. COM-AND is published by: CABER Software, P.O.Box
3607 MDSE MART, Chicago, IL 60657-0607, USA.
Nonprofit user group libraries, educational institutions, individuals or
BBSes are free to redistribute COM-AND with a reasonable fee for copying
disks. CABER Software's policy ONLY limits redistribution of copies of
COM-AND by commercial Disk Vendors.
A commercial Vendor must obtain written permission from CABER Software
before placing COM-AND in a library, unless the Vendor has been approved
by the Association of Shareware Professionals (ASP).
If a Vendor is NOT a member of the ASP:
CABER must have received a copy of standard written materials (cata-
logs, flyers, ads, etc.) which clearly explain the shareware concept
and the need for users to register shareware products they use. The
materials must clearly state that the price the user pays the Vendor
is a copying fee ONLY and does NOT constitute payment for the
product. The materials must also clearly differentiate between
Shareware and Public Domain software.
NOTE: It is not sufficient to tell CABER these issues are explained
to customers in person; you must allow us to SEE your presentation.
To become an approved Vendor of the ASP, you may contact the ASP for more
information on the ASP vendor program at:
Association of Shareware Professionals
Vendor Certification Committee
545 Grover Road
Muskegon, MI 49442-9427
If you are not already an ASP approved Vendor, we strongly recommend
you become an ASP approved vendor. The ASP vendor program offers useful
services to both authors and vendors, and promotes customer confidence
that reasonable standards are met in the creation and distribution of
shareware products.
CABER requires Vendors meet to one of these two conditions in order to
qualify for shareware distribution of COM-AND, due to a widespread con-
fusion about shareware in the marketplace. Please contact CABER if you
have any questions or comments on our product or our policies.
